What Furniture Do Your Guests Expect In A Vacation Rental?
When it comes to choosing furnishings for your vacation rental, it does get pretty confusing deciding on what to choose? Naturally you would want your vacation rental to look the very best but you may not be all that willing to spend a good amount of cash on furnishings that may not be looked after all that well by strangers. When you are ready to furnish your vacation home, take a look at these tips.
1. Quality or Price - which matters most? Price is the key when it comes to furnishing any home; this is all the more important if you are furnishing a rental property. It is essential that you purchase durable good quality furniture that can withstand a lot of wear and tear, but that does not mean that you would have to go in for the top of the line price bracket. You would probably replace the furniture at your rental a lot more times than you would, at your own home, as the renters cannot be counted on to be careful with the furniture. Bottom line choose good durable furniture while keeping the price ranges within reason.
2. Keep it comfortable - especially the beds. One of the main reasons that people go on vacations is so that they can relax and as such, they are bound to lean back and put their feet up while watching a movie or reading their novel. Keeping that in mind it would be better to opt for full cushions, lots of room, long sofa sets, wide armchairs and lots of pillows as these are sure to be well liked by the renters. It is important to pay close attention to the beds and test them out yourself prior to a rental and occasionally with age. Rule of the thumb here is that if the bed does not feel comfortable to you, then it is not going to be so for anyone else as well.
3. Don't forget about the kids. When kids and furniture are brought together, they tend to create messes as well as break some of the furniture in the process. Considering that, it would be a good idea to purchase furniture that are both easy to clean as well as a tad difficult to break.
4. Decorate according to your location. The vacation destinations are often chosen as a result of its locale, so it would be a good idea to emphasize this while choosing decorations. For example, if it is a cabin in the woods, then go with wildlife, quilts as well as deep rich colors. If the locale is the seashore, then it would make more sense to go with a nautical theme. If the locale is all about the beach then use bright colors, fun designs and some neat decorations that can also serve another purpose such as beach toys, picnic accessories or boating gear.
Do not forget to take pictures of your property, inside and out, whenever you change the furniture as well as the d?cor. These pictures can be used to update the rental listings and after that, within a short amount of time, you would be taking reservations from guests.
