Guests Mix-It-Up with "Cocktail Culture?" at Renaissance M Street Hotel

Washington, DC (PRWEB) March, 2008 -- Renaissance Hotels & Resorts' interactive ritual, Cocktail CultureTM, shakes up happy hour at M Bar at the Renaissance M Street Hotel. With an experience every evening at 5:00pm, guests can roll the Renaissance Cocktail Blocks to create the perfect signature cocktail. Built on a foundation of fresh ingredients and fresh squeezed juices, this Renaissance Savvy Service Signature puts guests in the spotlight as they interact with mixologists and patrons to design, judge and name the custom Cocktail of the Day at this downtown Washington DC luxury hotel.

"Renaissance Cocktail CultureTM experience gives our guests an opportunity to experiment with bartending techniques, unwind with an interactive evening ritual and have a little fun!" said John Eddleman, director of restaurants at Renaissance M Street Hotel. "Our mixologists are creating unique and interesting drinks and our guests can expect an exceptionally crafted cocktail with high quality ingredients."

The Renaissance Cocktail BlocksTM represents the five different "building blocks" of a fine handcrafted cocktail: Glassware, Method of Preparation, Fresh Ingredients, Spirits and Flavor Profile. With five blocks and six cocktail element choices per block, there are 7,776 potential combinations in the Cocktail CultureTM experience.

Guests are encouraged to roll the Renaissance Custom CocktailTM Blocks however they so wish either shake and toss in a tumbler or roll the blocks one at a time. Once the blocks are rolled, the mixologist combines the five elements for a well crafted signature cocktail. The creator then names the winning cocktail, the recipe is recorded and a copy of the recipe is given to the guest on a Cocktail of the Day memento card. The newly named libation is put on display as the Signature Cocktail of the Day with the creator's name. A copy of the recipe is stored in the hotel's Cocktail CultureTM bank at the trendy Washington DC restaurant for future use so returning guests can enjoy their creation again and again. For the next 24 hours the cocktail (and its creator) are celebrated throughout the hotel until the next roll of the Cocktail CultureTM Blocks.

The Renaissance Cocktail Culture? Experience sets the brand apart by using fresh squeezed juices in all of its core cocktail recipes and focusing on not only on what's in the glass, but the look and feel of the bar, generating excitement with handcrafted cocktails, and customizing the bar and lounge experience through the use of local cocktail signatures. The signature blocks are available at all Renaissance Hotels & Resorts globally. Happy hour will never be the same again?.

Located at 1143 New Hampshire Avenue, NW and M Street in the heart of Washington's West End, M BAR is open 6am to 2pm for Breakfast and Lunch; 5pm to 10pm for Dinner. The trendy Washington, DC restaurant seats 180 guests and features two private dining rooms accommodating 20-45 guests. So my brother is in town, together with his wife and 2 friends from my little home town in Austria. It is everybody's first time in North America and their initiation to Toronto. Just to give you ideas of dimensions: Austria has a population of about 9 million and the country extends about 900 km from east to west while the Greater Toronto area nowadays probably has about 4 to 5 million people and Lake Ontario alone is over 300 km long. The first thing my visitors noticed was the difference in size: the size of the city, the size of the lake, the size of cars, the size of supermarkets, and even of refrigerators.
