Olathe Kansas Team, Legs for Lyman, Kicks Off 2008 Cystic Fibrosis Fund-raising Campaign with Over 100 Guests
(PRWEB) February 20, 2008 -- Sunday morning in Olathe, KS and the overnight rain has now turned to snow and it is accumulating rapidly. As Shelley and Merrill Staton sat in church that morning and prayed for a great turnout at their first fundraiser, they had no idea how it would turn out. Immediately heading home and shoveling about four inches of snow from their driveway, their spirits remained hopeful. Little did they know that by early afternoon, temperatures would warm to the upper 40's and almost all the snow would melt away in time for a fabulous turn out of over 100 people at their Legs For Lyman Kick Off Party at Double Dino's in Shawnee, KS. "You never expect all who are invted to come, but this time it was pretty close. At one time, every table in the place was taken up by our guests!" stated Merrill.
Shelley and Merrill have two wonderful boys, Hamilton and Lyman. Hamilton is a healthy 4 year old boy and Lyman is a beautiful 2 1/2 year old boy has a smile for everyone he meets. While he might be the happiest kid on the block, Lyman still works very hard every day to stay healthy. Lyman has Cystic Fibrosis, a life shortening disease for which there is no cure.... yet. Because we promised Lyman to work hard too, we are fundraising for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF). Please help us exceed our fundraising goal and join us in the CFF Great Strides walk. Your generous gift will be used efficiently and effectively, as more than $.90 out of every dollar you contribute will be used to fund the vital programs of the CFF.
Can't walk this time? Please come to another event listed below, take a moment to make a donation or just tell a friend. Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a devastating genetic disease that affects tens of thousands of children and young adults in the United States. Research and care supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is making a huge difference in extending the length and quality of life for those with CF. However, we continue to lose precious lives to CF every day. That's why your help is needed now more than ever to ensure that a cure is found sooner - rather than later. Together, we can make a difference in the life of Lyman and others with CF. Would an average life expectancy of 36.7 years be long enough for your child? View our web site to register to walk, make a donation or just learn more.Thank you for supporting our family and our mission!

The streets are packed with restaurants, bistros, caf?s, hip boutiques and galleries and the Quartier Latin is definitely one of the places to be in Montreal.
